Pinssar welcomes Zak Hedges as Senior Environmental Consultant

Strengthening data-led DPM monitoring support for our customers.

Pinssar is pleased to welcome Zak Hedges to the team as Senior Environmental Consultant. Zak brings experience in environmental consultancy, client relationships, business development and statistical data analysis—adding valuable capability to the way we help mining and tunnelling operations understand and manage diesel particulate matter (DPM) exposure.

Turning monitoring data into practical insight

Zak holds a Master’s degree in Geoscience from Keele University, graduating with Distinction. His studies included statistical data analysis and laser scanning, providing a strong technical foundation for interpreting complex environmental monitoring information.

At Pinssar, Zak will focus primarily on data analysis, helping customers move beyond collecting readings to understanding what their DPM data means in practice. By identifying patterns, trends and potential gaps in existing monitoring programs, he will support clearer operational and health and safety decisions, ventilation verification and stronger preparedness as workplace exposure limits continue to tighten.

His role will include working with underground mining and tunnelling teams to identify gaps in current DPM monitoring practices, support the deployment of continuous real-time monitoring solutions and translate complex monitoring results into clear, actionable insights.

Supporting customers in key regions

Zak will work closely with Pinssar customers across  Australia, the UK and South Africa, combining remote data analysis with practical field engagement. His early work with the team includes travelling with Daniel Rose to Western Australia to meet customers, regulators and visit sites—building a direct understanding of each stake holders operational monitoring needs and challenges.

Zak’s genuine enthusiasm and approachable nature complement his professional expertise, making him a strong addition to both the Pinssar team and the customers we support. His appointment strengthens our commitment to helping organisations take greater control of DPM exposure through continuous real-time monitoring, informed analysis and responsive specialist support.

Welcome to Pinssar, Zak.
