History

In 2014, Pinssar Managing Director, Francois Velge set out on a mission to help make the workplace a safer space, and help reduce the health risks when workers are exposed to deadly and toxic diesel engine exhaust emissions (DEEE) – especially in confined environments. Francois was working in an underground mine when the World Health Organisation (WHO) declared DPM a Group 1 carcinogenic in 2012. Knowing that there was no practical method of continuously measuring DPM in harsh environments, he set out to develop a device which would ensure the health and safety of workers underground, rather than spot checking or reacting to the more obvious signs of exposure.
